edventure, chickfila, playing with friends, playing outside, monterrey’s, menchie’s for yummy ice cream, the okra strut, cotton candy and popcorn, a parade, 2 birthday parties, pizza and a gamecock win, running errands, daddy treating us to milkshakes, playing in the rain, dinner with nanny and pops…and finally in the bed on sunday night and ready to start a new week!
…a baby BOY!!!!
Tonight we had a little party with Nanny, Pops, and the Hensons to reveal our exciting news! Sarah Ann and Reece kicked off our little gender reveal by opening a “little brother” outfit for everyone to see…and everyone was completely surprised! It was such a fun little way to share the news. Baby boy also got two more little brother outfits from our sweet guests…he is sure going to be one loved little boy! And thank you, Kathy, for taking pictures for us!
Sarah Ann was really wanting a sister, but she is awfully excited now about being the only princess! She is going to be such a great little mommy and helper!
Reece is excited that he is now going to have a brother and sister. He said before bed tonight that “me and my brother can fight.” I think they are going to be some serious trouble in the next few years!
We are so thankful for this newest little blessing, and we are so excited that God has blessed us with another sweet boy! It’s going to be so much fun! Check back soon for ultrasound pictures and details!
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!”
Last week Jeffrey’s grandfather, Papa, passed away unexpectedly. We are so thankful that we were able to visit with him recently when we went apple picking. We didn’t know that it would be the last time we saw him, but the visit was such a sweet blessing to all of us, especially Sarah Ann and Reece. They thought Papa was just hilarious, and they loved climbing up in his chair with him. It was such a sweet visit that we will forever remember.
Papa’s passing also brought another special visit with all of Jeffrey’s family that we had not seen in a long time. Jeffrey’s family is spread out all over the country, so we are thankful that everyone was able to come together to celebrate and remember Papa. Sarah Ann and Reece especially loved getting to spend the day with their cousins. They all had the best time playing, dancing, coloring, running around crazy, and eating! It was so fun to see all of them together, especially since there are 4 under 5!
We attempted to take a picture of all 6 after the funeral, but it was not an easy procress! This is about as good as it got… MacKenzie (3), Sarah Ann (3), Stuart Ann (5), Will (10), John (13), and Reece (2).
The youngest 4 also took a little ride on their picnic sheet down the hallway with Wes and Granny. Silly kids! They had the absolute best time laughing and playing together!
We are so happy that Fall has arrived! It is definitely my most favorite season!
We welcomed Fall with a play date with some friends and a trip to the White Knoll homecoming game on Friday, and we spent the first official day of Fall watching football, playing outside, and grilling a delicious dinner!
Here are a few reasons we love Fall around here…
Jumping in the fallen leaves
Chili and homemade soup
The leaves changing colors
Cool evenings outside
Visiting the pumpkin patch
The South Carolina State Fair
The girls’ birthdays
Jeans, hoodies, and sweaters
And a trip the Bahamas for Mommy and Daddy!
Hello Fall! We are so glad you are here!
Wednesday was National Talk Like a Pirate Day and the new Jake and the Neverland Pirates special aired that evening, so it was of course a perfect reason to have a special and fun evening at home!
After nap time, Sarah Ann and Reece painted pictures of Jake, Izzy, and Bucky the pirate ship. For dinner we had a special pirate breakfast. The menu consisted of: pirate pancakes, Bucky’s bacon swords, sea syrup, y0 ho yogurt, red ruby grapes, pixie dust grits, gold doubloon scrambled eggs, and Jake’s juicy juice! We love having breakfast for dinner and new names for the food made it even more fun! Once we finished up dinner, we headed outside for a special treasure hunt, so that we could find our snacks for the movie. The kids and Jeffrey did a great job following the map and finding all their treats! Before watching Jake, Sarah Ann and Reece took blue sea bubble baths and got all cuddled up and ready for bed. Finally it was time to enjoy the new Jake saved Bucky movies! The kids loved it, especially with the visit from Peter Pan!
It was such a fun pirate evening, and I love making sweet memories with my little pirates! Here a few pictures from our evening…enjoy!
So, it’s Wednesday already, but I’m just now getting to post about the weekend. The weekends always fly by…but this week is flying by too!
Saturday morning we went to see Addie and Charlie play in their very first soccer game! Sarah Ann was a great little cheerleader, and Reece has decided he wants to play soccer next year! I can’t wait!
We also went to Bentley’s cow themed second birthday party! The Chick-fil-a cow even gave us a special visit and brought coupons for free ice cream! The kiddos also had fun splashing in the pools and playing with the water!
Saturday night after dinner at Chick-fil-a and getting our free ice cream, we headed downtown for a quick visit to the Greek Festival. This was our first time going, and it was so fun! The weather was absolutely perfect, and it wasn’t too crowded. We got to take a tour of the new church and see some Greek dancing. Sarah Ann and Jeffrey rode a spinny ride and both ended up dizzy, and the both kids jumped in the bounce house before heading home!
Sunday after church we grilled out for lunch and made homemade crockpot applesauce with some of our apples from Sky Top. Jeffrey did all the hard work, while Sarah Ann and Reece both helped putting everything into the crockpot! Sarah Ann was so proud of the applesauce, even though they both thought it was a little too sweet! Ha!
Finally Sunday night, Jeffrey and I got to enjoy a little date night at the Tom Conlon concert at church. It inspired Jeffrey to get his guitar back out this week, so we are loving hearing him play! And Sarah Ann and Reece of course loved the time they got to spend with Nanny and Pops while we were out!
Well, now it’s time to finish up this week and get started on another wonderful weekend ahead! We hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!
Here are a few pictures from the Greek Festival and applesauce making…
…in shining armor on the way to preschool this morning! He’s such a handsome little superhero!
Reece is quite obsessed with superheroes, swords, and fighting! He is in character about 95% of the day! Last night Jeffrey made our bed into his castle for him to fall asleep in, and he requested that all his swords and armor stay right at the foot of the bed. When we moved him to his bed, we moved all of his gear with him, and when he woke up and came out of his room this morning he had all of his armor back on! Luckily he didn’t put up too much of a fight when I told him he couldn’t wear it into school…
I sure do love my little knight!
