Wonderful Moments with Sarah Ann

You’re really gonna let me use markers? October 29, 2009

Sarah Ann had a really fun time using markers for the first time today, and she only tried to put them in her mouth one time. She did a great job coloring her pumpkin, and then wanted to carry it around the house for the rest of the night!

Costume and Carving! October 28, 2009

Yesterday afternoon we took Sarah Ann to get her picture taken in her Halloween costume—I think she is the cutest Minnie Mouse I have ever seen! Now that she is walking and all over the place, it was quite the interesting process to actually get a shot, but we had a couple we really liked!

Tonight after dinner we carved our pumpkin! Sarah Ann did not like when Jeffrey was pulling all of the gook out, but once it was all completed she didn’t mind putting her hands inside and checking it out!

Pumpkin posts! October 26, 2009

Filed under: Baby — cortneyhope @ 10:28 pm

Sarah Ann and I have several things planned this week to celebrate fall and Halloween. I have posted before that Sarah Ann has become obsessed with pumpkins–this morning at gymnastics the very first thing she noticed was all of the pumpkins hanging from the ceiling!

Each day this week, I am planning to share what activity we did with pumpkins (an idea that I got from another blog I read).

Today Sarah Ann and I worked on our coloring skills by coloring a pumpkin picture. She was more interested in looking at all the crayons, but I think she did a pretty good job coloring too!

Time with Daddy October 23, 2009

“My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.”

Jeffrey and Sarah Ann playing at the football game last weekend!

A couple of years ago, my friend Mandy (who I coach cheerleading with) and I jokingly said that one day we could coach varsity together when she started teaching high school and I was staying home with a baby. Little did we know that 2 years later it would actually work out that way! When we decided that I would be staying at home with Sarah Ann and Jeffrey said that I could coach cheerleading too, I don’t know if we really knew all that it would entail. However, our family has had some incredible blessings come out of this season so far! And I have to say that for me, one of the biggest and best blessings has been the time that Jeffrey and Sarah Ann have been able to spend together.

Sarah Ann loves spending time with Jeffrey. He is so great at being completely attentive to her, hanging on to all her little steps and sounds–cuddling with her, reading to her, dancing with her, and laughing with her. You can already tell how Sarah Ann cherishes this time with Jeffrey–she just smiles and giggles and clings to her Daddy!

I am so grateful that I get to watch their relationship grow, and I so look forward to seeing them continue to cherish all of the special times they have together! I really like the quote that I put at the top of this post, because that is so true of Jeffrey–he is such a godly example of wisdom and love to Sarah Ann, because he lives it day in and day out. Sarah Ann has always been very observant, and I am so glad that she has such a great example in her Daddy to observe and watch as she grows up!

This was Sarah Ann’s first experience with spaghetti sauce! She really liked it! Hopefully she will love Italian food like her Mommy and Daddy!

South Carolina State Fair October 19, 2009

Sarah Ann had her first visit to the South Carolina State Fair this evening, and we all had a great time! There was a ton of people there, and it made her a little nervous at first—but once she warmed up to everything going on, she was very excited! She loved looking at all of the lights on the rides and seeing all of the animals! She rode her first ride too–the merry-go-round! She loved it! Lastly, what trip to the fair would be complete without eating a little cotton candy and getting a prize–of course as soon as she saw “Dora” we knew that would be what she wanted!

Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch! October 18, 2009

Filed under: Baby, Daddy, Mommy — cortneyhope @ 9:16 pm

Today Jeffrey, Sarah Ann and I took a family trip to the Harmon’s Farm to visit the pumpkin patch! Sarah Ann was so excited to see all of the pumpkins—she was pointing and oohing! She wanted to get a hold of all of them! We were very glad that the sun was shining when we got there–it kept us warm while we were checking out the pumpkins. Here are a few pictures of “Daddy’s Little Pumpkin” checking out all of the other pumpkins…

After looking at all of the pumpkins, the sun seemed to disappear, but we didn’t let it stop our fun! We just bundled up and kept right on going–Sarah Ann was full of energy! We looked at all of the animals, took a hayride, and walked through the corn maze!

We are excited about getting our big pumpkin soon and carving it! I wonder what Sarah Ann will think about all the gook inside!

During lunch at the mall today, Sarah Ann decided to show of her new “cheese” face for everyone! It’s pretty adorable when she squints up her eyes and shows off her five teeth!

Sarah Ann is enjoying all that Fall has to offer—she is obsessed with pumpkins–real ones, plastic ones and the little pumpkins on some of her fall outfits. We are looking forward to going to the pumpkin patch on Saturday! Look for more pictures soon!

Baby #2 :) October 12, 2009

Filed under: Baby — cortneyhope @ 12:43 pm

78363725We went to the doctor this morning for a check-up on Baby #2! He/she is doing wonderfully! The heartbeat was 152-154, which is great! All of my energy is back, but I am still getting sick randomly and having some headaches. Last time the headaches went away by the time I was 20 weeks. My blood pressure and blood count was very good today too!

We are so excited about our next appointment on November 9 to find out whether Baby #2 is a boy or girl! :) We all think it is a boy! What do you think?
