Gobble, Gobble!

November 24, 2009

I know that Sarah Ann does not really understand all that the holidays entail, but I love how much she is getting into them! She was obsessed with pumpkins with Halloween, and right now she loves anything to do with turkeys–stickers, songs, pictures–she also makes “gobble, gobble” signs with her hands.

We have spent some time making some Thanksgiving crafts and Sarah Ann has gotten very into it! Last week she made turkey handprints with AC and Charlie and a card for Daddy. This past Sunday we made turkey cookies with Sarah Ann’s handprint. She made a total mess decorating and eating her cookies!

We love having fun with our little turkey!

Straw :)

November 21, 2009

Sarah Ann has wanted to and tried to drink out of a straw for several months now. She would put her mouth around it and suck a little bit, but never long enough to get any drink out of it. Finally this past weekend, it all came together and now she loves to drink out of a straw. She thinks she is such a big girl when she can hold her cup and use the straw just like everyone else. She is growing up way to fast!

Caleb Reece Broadwell

November 19, 2009

We would like to introduce you to Caleb Reece Broadwell! We are going to call him Reece, which is my mom’s maiden name. Caleb Reece was the name that we had originally decided on if Sarah Ann had been a boy. After thinking about names again, we decided we would like to call the him Reece, so we thought and thought about what we wanted his full name to be, and we always came back to Caleb Reece…I guess it was meant to be!

We wanted to go ahead and decide on the name too, so that we can start calling him Reece and preparing Sarah Ann for the baby that is in Mommy’s tummy. Up until we decided, when we would talk to Sarah Ann about the baby we would call him Baby Boy and she would always go and grab her baby dolls. Hopefully over the next few months she will understand a little bit better about her baby brother Reece!

Favorite Friends :)

November 17, 2009

November is National Premature Awareness month and today is Fight for Preemies Day, so Sarah Ann and I wanted to share about some of our favorite friends, Anna Claire and Charlie. They were born on March 7, 2009, ten weeks early. I remember how tiny and beautiful they were the first time I saw them, and they just become cuter and sweeter every single day! Sarah Ann loves to play with Anna Claire and Charlie, and most recently, she loves to give them hugs! We are so grateful that Sarah Ann and Baby Boy Broadwell have such wonderful friends!

We have taken several trips to the zoo with the twins, and while Sarah Ann really likes to look at all of the animals, she really loves to be near Anna Claire and Charlie. Here a few pictures of our adventures at Riverbanks…

Looking at the Penguins--they are their favorite!

Two sleepy girls on the way home--aren't they cute?

Happy Birthday Mommy!

November 16, 2009

Saturday I celebrated my 26th birthday–I can’t really believe it, and life could also not be any sweeter! We had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday at the Georgia Aquarium and the Varsity with Nanny, Pops, and Uncle Jeremy. Sarah Ann loved looking at all of the fish–we smiled and pointed the whole time. It must have worn her out because she was asleep in Jeffrey’s arms before we made it to the car. Nanny and Pops surprised us with seasons passes as an early Christmas present, so we are very excited about going back to the aquarium over and over again!

After the aquarium we ate lunch at the Varsity, and this pregnant Mommy had never been so excited to eat 2 chili burgers, fries, onion rings, and a frosted orange! This was Sarah Ann’s first trip to the Varsity, and she really liked the hot dog and frosted orange too! I am sure we will be going back again soon!

Sarah Ann thought it was great when we got to eat dinner in the living room on Saturday night so that we could watch to Auburn/Georgia Game. She was also more than happy to eat some of Mommy’s ice cream cake! It was delicious!

Oh boy!

…Baby Boy Broadwell thoughts…

papapishu_Baby_boy_sitting

1. We were soooo excited to find out on Monday that Baby #2 was a boy! I really thought he was a he all along because everything has been so different from when I was pregnant with Sarah Ann, but it was great to have it confirmed. Jeffrey said that he is looking forward to things being evened out between girls and boys at our house, and I am looking forward to having a Momma’s boy. Sarah Ann has become very huggy, cuddly, and clingy to her Daddy lately, and while I love seeing there relationship grow, I think I will enjoy having a cuddly, clingy boy!

2. As of right now, Baby Boy Broadwell does not have a name–we are very close though! We have a middle name (which we are going to call him by), but we are still trying to find the perfect first name!

3. We have begun to put together some ideas for his room and are also in the process of thinking about all of the “double” stuff that we will need! It makes me very excited to think about Sarah Ann and Baby Boy being together!

4. We have some of Baby Boy’s clothes hanging up so that Sarah Ann can see them, and she loves to look at the ones with animals on them. We try to tell her that her little brother is going to wear them, and while she does not understand at all, I know that she is going to be a wonderful big sister! She loves to play with her baby dolls, rocking and patting them, so I know she will do a great job!

5. I am starting to feel him move a lot more, and he really likes it when I am able to sit and rest for a minute…that is when he really gets moving. He also really likes Capri Suns and snickers!

6. I know that everyone thinks that they will never be able to love another child as much as their first, and I completely thought the same thing before we found out we were pregnant again—but it is so not true! We love this little baby boy with all of our hearts and we are so blessed that God has allowed us to have another baby, and we can’t wait to love on him and spoil him just as much as we have Sarah Ann!

Just like Mommy too…

While she does lots of things like Jeffrey, there are also some things that she has picked up from me–one thing is that she loves to dip whatever she is eating into something, and I am the exact same way. Today we dipped our chicken and macaroni’n'cheese in ketchup (hey, I’m pregnant, and it tastes really good!). I will say that I stayed much cleaner than she did :)

Just Like Daddy…

One thing that has always puzzled me about Jeffrey is how he can read more than one book at a time. He is so knowledgeable and loves to read, and he can read 3, 4, of 5 books at a time and just soaks all the information in. Sarah Ann has apparently caught onto this trait, because she does a great job of getting all of her books out and reading as many as possible at one time. I hope that she always loves to read, just like Daddy!

Just Because She’s Cute :)

November 8, 2009

So, I am pretty much addicted to my IPhone…I admit it! But one of the things I love about my phone is being able to capture Sarah Ann at any moment. Here are a few cute pictures I caught last week…

Reading with Daddy while we were waiting for the doctor…

She just didn’t want the corn, she wanted to eat it off the cob…

Really wanting to get a fish while we were at Wal-Mart, I was very proud of myself for not giving in…
