Wonderful Moments with Sarah Ann

Jenny Jump Up February 26, 2009

Filed under: Baby — cortneyhope @ 2:32 am

Yesterday we tried out Sarah Ann’s new toy….Jenny Jump Up. She still has a little growing to do before she can really jump, but she seemed to really like standing in it! As you can see from the picture below, just like everything else Sarah Ann gets around, it goes straight to her mouth!

Happy 80th Birthday, Granny! February 25, 2009

Filed under: Baby, Daddy — cortneyhope @ 2:42 am

This past weekend we travelled to Clinton, NC to celebrate Granny’s 80th birthday with Jeffrey’s family! It was a wonderful time of celebration, and Granny was very surprised to see all her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. It was also the first time that Sarah Ann was able to meet many of her relatives. I think Sarah Ann was a little overwhelmed at first, but she did wonderful! We had a great trip, and we can’t wait to see everyone again!

We love you Granny! Happy Birthday!

Before I was a Mom… February 20, 2009

A friend sent me this poem today, and I really liked it! There is absolutely nothing better in the world than being a Mommy…

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn’t worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put her down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn’t stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn’t know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn’t know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn’t know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn’t know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Jeffrey’s brother came to visit a few weeks back, and we were so glad that he got to spend some time with Sarah Ann. He has given her the nickname “Scout.” She was a little out of sorts and sleepy because we had just come back from a trip to Atlanta, but she had a good time playing with Uncle Bo and Daddy! We can’t wait to see Uncle Bo again in a couple weeks!

Sarah Ann is 3 Old Months! February 3, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — cortneyhope @ 9:55 pm

Yesterday Sarah Ann turned 3 months old!

It was a very sad day for Mommy, because I had to go back to work. Sarah Ann goes back to sleep after she eats around 6, so I think that helped me with leaving to go to school Monday morning. I missed her so much though! The kids were very excited that I was back, and I showed them lots of pictures of Sarah Ann! They all said that they cannot wait to meet her!

Nanny (my mommy) is watching Sarah Ann while Mommy and Daddy are at work, and they are having a lot of fun together! Here a couple of pictures from today when Nanny put Sarah Ann in her convertible car to play!
